Here are a few suggestions for hunters coming through Amsterdam:
If you are travelling through Amsterdam with either KLM or North West Airlines you are required to obtain permission in advance to transit through the city with firearms from the Douane Noord office in Groningen. Instructions for filling in the form digitally:
- Download the Application form on your computer
- Fill in the form and save on your computer
- Submit the form via Answers for Business Message Box (in Dutch: Antwoord voor bedrijven Berichtenbox)
*If you are submitting the form digitally, your representative does not have to sign the form.
Instructions for filling in the form by hand:
- Download the Application form on your computer
- Print the form
- Fill in the form
- Sign the form
- Send the form to the address mentioned on the form, or fax to: +31 88 151 31 82
*Please follow up with them for confirmation of receipt
Don't forget to apply for permission for your flight over and the flight home.
Send the completed form (above), a copy of your passport and the US Customs form 4457 by fax to the above number.
The consent form will be faxed back to you after a few days so don't forget to give them a return fax number too.We have had many hunters that have not applied and waited for 6 -
When you have received your Police clearance from Amsterdam, make a copy of the permit and put it in a plastic sleeve and stick it to your firearm case so when the firearm is offloaded in Amsterdam the authorities can see you have a permit and will automatically send your firearm on.
